Well over here you go with dad and just put their name on the certificate.

You could just give your registery office a call and ask them to put your mind at rest

There are no laws huns thyat I know of.

Ray is Alyssa's real dad but as we not yet married we made the joint decision to give aly my last name we called the registry office as we are getting married next year and they said we just need to make an appt with them to get the details changed.

Whether your babies daddy goes with you to the registry office or not you can give the baby either your last name or his. If you want to put him on the birth certificate then you can if he's not there but he does have to sign a declaration in order for you to do that (otherwise you could put anyone on there!)
If the baby DOES take your name and then you get married, as long as he's on the birth certificate then changing the name isn't a problem. If he isn't on the birth certificate then you would need proof that he's the Dad, but i wouldn't think he'd have to adopt him.
