| missjess,
One thing you should now be sure to do is to contact the two main credit bureaus in Canada and let them know that you have had an identity theft. While you're at it, request your free copies of your credit report and make sure that nothing else suspicious has happened. The credit card companies are generally pretty good about taking care of these things, but if for some reason this thief accessed more than just that card, you need to protect yourself and your credit score by making sure that there is a record of the incident. The credit score stuff can be a nightmare to sort out if someone's messed with your ID, but if you're proactive you can save yourself a world of headache. |
