Just wondering on average how long it's taken people on here to recieve their sure start maternity grant??

From the time you sent the application off??

Mine took only about a week at the very most. I was told it could take 6 weeks because of a backlog but it's the fastest thing I've ever known them to process and I think a lot of people have had the same experience.

I'm Currently Feeling: 


Yes, you can only get the grant if you are on benefits or are on the higher rate of child tax credits than the family element (£545 per year, or £1090 per year if you have a baby aged under one) You can apply while you are pregnant or up until 3 months after baby is born - I applied after baby was born as my husband was out of work for a while & I am receiving maternity pay - our tax credits went up so we were entitled to it at the time - it took about 2 weeks (maybe sooner) from the date I posted the form off for it to be put into my bank.

me and my partner will be living at my parents house for a while while the baby is born...my partner works part time and i work part time (15 hours a week) would i be entitled to the grant? xxxx

I applied for it and it was turned down, then 2 days after i was awarded my tax credits it came, so dont worry they are quite speedy!!
