I'm Currently Feeling: | OH working away Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards
Was just wondering how many of you have partners that work away from home?
My OH has not long got his HGV licence and so he has got a job that involves him driving long distances and being away from home for 3 nights or so a week.
I would rather he was at home as I don't want him to miss out on our lil boy growing up and I know I am going to miss him like mad. Though I do realise that this is a job that he has always wanted to do and I wouldn't want him to feel bad about being away from us.
Does anyone else's OH work away from home like this? Does it work? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | No, not really. However, the past few weeks I've seen OH perhaps 2 hours each weekday as he's been leaving early and getting home late. The joys of owning your own businesses!
The past few weekends before last, he's been helping his mom fix up her house. Then this past weekend I was out a lot due to kid's bday parties, etc.
So, yeah, doesn't seem like I've seen him all that much. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | BTW, this is probably been what's wrong with me. Been a bit cranky towards him lately and a bit distant with him. Not his fault he's working or appeasing his mom. But, I guess I feel a bit left behind. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i kinow how you feel! Just wish mine was only away for three days!!!! Mine is away 3-4 months at a time! he missed most of my pregnancy, but you sure learn to appreciate them when they are around.
The first time my OH went away was a huge shock and it took some getting used to, but i am used to it now and worry about the time when he comes home perminantly! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Catch-22 isn't it? When they are always around, you wish they'd go away for a bit. And when they aren't here, you wish they were. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | yeah I'm having a similar time
OH works in the music industry and spends a lot of time away. Sometimes it is difficult, I have felt like I can't cope, only twice though. I live in an area where I don't know many people too, this makes it even harder. I think the toughest part is the lack of sleep.
So, yeah, it's not easy |

| My hubby has been in the Army the whole time we have been togather....there are good and bad points....and although I think our relationship is better when we are togather....when he gets out the army I think I will miss missing him when he's away, if that makes sense....I will miss that first contact after he's been away for months...its like getting togather all over again! |
