As some of you know oxsarahxo sadly lost her baby girl Jessica Charlotte Reay hours after giving birth. We are arranging a star to be named after Jessica and a lantern for her resting place from all of us. We also thought it would be nice to make a contribution to Sarah & Matt so they can use it towards flower arrangements, head stone or resting place arrangements. If you would like to contibute please PM me for details. I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks hun.
I finally got through to someone at about half 5 last night and did get some answers although it was a very rushed conversation because they were about to close!
He basically said that if it was a genuine oversight on my part then I shouldnt need to worry too much but as they have opened an investigation they must finish it so will contact me shortly. Have written them a letter too just to explain.
By the way orange-sox, love your new pic! Nice to put a face to the name!

| I can't believe they wouldn't discuss it with you what are they like?!
To also tell you that they will still be deducting your money even though your policy has been cancelled should be fradulent in itself how can they take money but not cover you on insurance is wrong am afraid.
I hope you have cancelled your direct debit with them. Also if I were you I would like to know why it has only just been brought to your attention that your policy had been cancelled in february??? What would have happened if you had had an accident god forbid. Whilst I can appreciate them saying it was because you didn't disclose any information you genuninely didn't know at that point and also what does it matter anyway he wasn't using your car as he couldn't and you were paying more on your policy anyway so they were getting more money still so as long as he wasn't driving it I don't understand??
I would demand to speak to a manager about this if no one will speak to you ask for an email address and compose a letter to them telling them you will be taking this to the insurance ombudsman if no one gets back to you immediately.
who is the insurance company anyway? I had problems with Direct line once - unfortunately you only find out how good an insurance company is until you need to claim or something like this comes up - they take too much money and always find loop holes to get out of paying out.
I have now officially stepped off my orange box.... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Spartacus. Its More Than. I have been given a direct line for the technical team manager but it just rings and rings, left it ringing for 15 mins yesterday and there was no answer. Tried calling the main customer service number only to be told its the technical department that are dealing with it and all they did was transfer me to the line that range forever!
The bloke has said he will call me back as soon as they have finished their investigation and I have cancelled my direct debit too.
Got some advice off my auntie who is a legal exec and she said that technically, when this 'investigation' of theirs comes to a close, they may have to refund me for every month that I wasnt covered, as like you said, they cant take my money but say my insurance is void! So that would be a nice £150 in my pocket! Cant see it happening though, nothing like this ever seems to go my way!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | I work for a car insurance company too, & deal with 'non-disclosures'. All we do is add them on to the policy & backdate them to the last renewal date after the conviction was added to the licence. This does increase the premium & if paying by DD, the extra is usually re-spread amongst the remaining DD payments. The only time I think there would be any questions whether the insurance was valid or not would be if a claim was going through & to be honest it would have to be a pretty serious conviction to say that the policy was invalid. If they have cancelled your policy & say that it has been invalid since renewal then you should receive a full refund of any monies paid - providing that this there is no money owed on previous years cover due to the conviction (if conviction not disclosed on 3 years worth of cover, it would be backdated & you would owe whatever extra the policy would have cost if the conviction was on the policy for those 3 years)
Just reading this back & hope I haven't confused you further |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Bev - and no you have not confused me further, thats a massive help!
We took the insurance out beginning of Feb and he got his points end of Feb. We've not claimed or anything so there is no probs there. I actually sold the car on the weekend so need to cancel the insurance anyway but they have said I cant do that until the investigation is complete and in the meantime will still take my payments. However the letter they sent clearly states that the insurance has not been valid since 28/02/08 and will remain invalid until the investigation has closed. Thats whats confused me, the fact I cant cancel my policy but they still want to take my money although I wouldnt be insured anyway!! |
