I'm hoping to conceive late this year/early next year and had a jokey chat with my dad about being a grandfather. I asked what he'd like to be called, 'Granddad/Grandpa etc. but everything I suggested he said sounded too 'old'. What do your children call/will they call your parents? Did they end up calling them something other than you expected?

My mum and step dad are Nana and Papa D. Wheres as my DH's step father is Pops. My friend's kids call her dad Poppy. I have absolutely no idea what my dad and step mum like to be called. Am sure i will find out soon.

My Dad said something similar to me when I chatted to him about being a Grandad and he said he'd like to be called Pops, so that's what he's going to be. My Mum will be Nana, since she said 44 is too old to be Grandma.

my mom is nanny anne, his mom nanny maureen, his dad is gan gan, addys said it when she was younger and it just stuck....her great grandma is nanny nanny lol

my mum will be nanny!!! My friends mum is recently been made a grandma as she thinks nanny sounds older!!!

I think nanny sounds much younger!! My dad will be grandad!!

My parents are nana and papa to my sisters kids.
i m not sure what my MIL wants.
I joked with her about calling her "Grand Mother"....
She is anything BUT stuffy, she likes grandma.

Hehe, I think I'll tell him he should be 'Grandfather' just to see the look on his face! I think my mum will probably be Granny. Not a clue about OH's parents!

My mother has specifically asked to be called Nana cause she thinks its "sweet". Dad will probably be Pop or Granda. My grandmother will most defintely be called Gram.
