I'm Currently Feeling: | Coming back to the UK!! Well my husband and I have been talking and we might be returning to the UK for 6 months to a year. We currently live in France, but our house in the UK still hasnt sold (we have a lot of equity tied up in it), and our money is running out rapidly. Its a catch 22, we need the money from the house in order to start our new business here in France.
So it looks like from beginning of Sept we will be temporarily coming back so that we can both do some short term IT contracts (thats if anyone will employ me with a large bump)!
Im actually quite relieved as it would mean I will have the baby in the UK, and was terrified of having it here in France as I dont speak the language very well yet!
But am also worried that although I am a British Citizen, I have lived out of the UK for over 3 months now, and they may not let me have health care - not great when I will be about 5 months pregnant at the time.
Has anyone else been in this situation? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm not sure but as a citizen you should still be entitled to the healthcare, I assume at least?? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | any citizen of the eu is entitled to healtcare in whatever country in the eu they are in. admittedly some countries have a different system to ours, but rest assured if you went to sweden tomorrow for example you'd get full ante natal care etc etc.
So, in answer to your question- (and as someone already pointed out, you are a citizen, you didnt emigrate to kuala lumpur or renounce your citizenship )- you have absolutely nothing to worry about!!
Good luck with everything,
Omi xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | They can't refuse you care. Especially not the baby.
You're a British citizen, as your child will be.
Therefore you're entitled to care. |
