Am I over-reacting

Hey guys sorry to be a burden but just after advice, my dad is extremely ill, looks like he has a few months left and he had a stroke a few weeks ago that I've only just found out about! Did I not deserve to know? I mean I know he is ill and all, he has been for a long time and due to my step mum hating me she doesn't let me see him unless its on her terms but surely somebody could have told me? All my brothers knew! I just feel completely left out, and angry that nobody told me.

You aren't overreacting at all. I'd be very upset if it was someone in my family who was sick and it was kept from me. So sorry to hear about your dad.

Talking to my step-mum is a no go, she has never liked me, and if I say something she will go back on my dad, and with the way he is its just not worth it! Dad has been ill for years and his lungs etc are all failing now so its only a matter of time now, he is quite old but since I've been pregnant, ive seen him twice as they live in Wales. He has only seen Jasmine once and they don't tend to bother with her, they never got a card when she was born and haven't sent me a b-day card or xmas card since I was 8years old
