| Have you thought about doing a Degree with the OU? Im doing it like that, that way Iget the qualification, without having to be a pikey student, working in my own time, and will have no huge student loan at the end of it. And Ican still work and look after kids at the same time. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry to be rude but it seem that you both need to shut down your computers and talk, and get out there and sort a job out, your oh seem to give the impression that a job will just jump out at him.
As Cat said if you dont like uni then look at home courses as there are loads including accountancy.
You wont get any where by moaning, i know i've been there and in the end i had to really fight through work place abuse and being told i would never make anything in life.
I dont have a degree, i hate phones and dealing with people i was and still am extremely shy, but i have had to deal with it even more so with having a little one..
Sorry if i sound harsh, but get out there and fight for what you want do sit there and think what if..
I would have filled in the form for him and sent it!! and then when he complained tell him that he had his chance!! |

Cat, yeah, i was thinking about the OU. Although, i think a local college does distance learning on the course i want so i may look into that. I'm gonna ask a friend from church about an accountant apprentiship

I'm Currently Feeling: | Gaby, dont take it as a personal attack, Hypnorm is only trying to help.
She does rais a few points. To find a job does take alot of hard work and sacrifices. I sent well over 100 letters, CV's and application forms jsut in a week to try and get a job. I also really hate using the phone with a passion! but i was even willing to put my fears aside to go into a call centre.
Please dont feel you cant have a rant or ask for help, were here to help and support each other
Asking for an aprenticeship would be a good place to start, you could try writing a letter to some places and include a CV asking? I know you probably have asked around some places but you could try going through the yellow pages and find some address of places, guarunteed you will find some that you havent asked at yet... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Gaby maybe best to put TTC on hold til you both have a steady income?
I find it very expensive and couldn't cope with not working- (I work full time just now) even part time wages would help alot  |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We were TTC before either of us had jobs
I dont think i could cope with not working now, although we managed fine on benefits i very much prefer having money to be able to get the things that i want (like my DS!) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry i snapped at you hypnorm Its just on another forum i got one post like that then everyone started having a go at me for ttc in my current situation.
Yeah, i know i have to get over my anxiety thing. I swear i'm trying!
Arcanegirl, i wouldn't have a clue who to sent letters to ^_^ i'm new to the area and new to job hunting. I've never had a job before, not even a weekend job at school. Good idea about writing a letter with a cv I shall do that
KX - DH has a steady income, just not a very high one, hence the application for a better job.
Oh, btw, he got up early this morning and finished it and it is now in the hands of the sports center he was applying to. So now i'm not mad at him ^_^
I'm starting to think that if MIL forces a sale on her and FIL's house (they separated this year) it could work out for the best. FIL could put up money with me and DH for a house, so we'd have 2/3 ppl's incomes with the bills of one house Plus free baby sitting |

I was thinking the other day, I don't know how people manage living off benefits with kids, altho some cases you are better off.
I find it expensive the rate Rebecca grows out of clothes. eats, drinks, grows out of developmental toys is fast!
maybe its just me |
