crapola!!! It's sooooo wrong it drives me mad! You and James are trying to do the right thing by paying your way, but when you need a little extra help no one is there.

Hope Shelter comes up with the goods for you!

Maybe shared ownership property might be an option in the future.... well.... if mortgage rates come down!

Lots of luck xxx

UVLollypop: I am a caseworker for a council in housing (homelessness). If you PM me I may be able to give you some advice, but I need to know more of your circumstances.

I also know a bit about the housing register because it works hand in hand. Are you in a council place or private?

The housing benefit rules just changed about a month ago and I think I may have a copy of the new changes lurking around. In my field, we have to be trained up on this stuff. Have you asked for a reassessment?

Ah, there is a housing crisis since 10 years ago in all areas south of Coventry. Are you in a 1 bedroom place? And are you trying to stay in the immediate area?

Although I work in homelessness, I have to know about benefits and the housing register because when I accept a case the people are put on the housing register and we co-manage it (best way to describe this).

Also, when I get a chance over the weekend, I will look over the housing register policy for Milton Keynes, if you want.

thanks hun.

im in a one bed, need a 3 but a 2 would be better than 1.

i have spent the day one the phone to people,
shelter said they couldnt really help me cause i wasnt homless, but gave me a list of housing ass's to call through which were as helpful as a chocolate cooker! people that have lists open have a 3 year wait, noone will consider me untill the babys born and i should basically not waste my time.
i also spoke to my housing officer, he said my only way of moving is via an exchange - where i started off- because theres no housing transfer list anymore it works on a dif system, to get in group 1 -to be considered for a move you have to be over crowded -im not over crouded unill i need 2 more bedrooms and cause amys not here all the time we just 'need' one- fleeing violence, or disabled in non adapted accommodation.

what are we ment to do...

seriously

im stumped i dont know what other routes to go down
