Mat allowance & sure start grant


I sent of my matt allowance form bout 3 weeks ago, they wrote 2 me n sed they wud write 2 let me no their decision, an i sent my ss grant off jus ova a week ago, n heard nuffin? anyone no how long they take? and is it normal for mat allowance 2 write 2 u 2 tell u they will let u no? Or does this mean i prob wnt get it?

My grant took them over 3 weeks for them to process as they had a back log of them. Try ringing them and they might be able to tell u what is going on x

Mine took a few weeks to come through and yeah I got that letter too hun. I think it's standard.

It can take a while to process so keeping calling them for a decision.
However, if you are only getting Mat All, its unlikely you will qualify, unless you have other children.

You need to be in receipt of Income Support, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, or Child Tax Credit at the higher rate. You can always apply after your baby is born, as your circumstances will be different then
