CHILD TRUST FUND ADVICE PLEASE

Ive still not invested Lucy's I know Im bad, but life is just a bloomin whirlwind for the past few months.

Rebecca's is onvested with HBOS-a stakeholder thingy, I am clueless.

My question is, can I invest the voucher in a straight forward bank account as I dont want to be part of the stocks and shares market (with the state of this country at the mo) so she just gets back what I pay in?

Or should I keep her the same as her sister? As I dont want one ending up with a wedge more than the other.

I pay £20 in a month for rebecca but cant afford to do the same jst now for Lucy as Im on no pay and need to wait til I return to work in Spet.

ahhh decisions decisions x

You can put it in a no risk savings account, the money will earn interest during the time it is in there. It wont be much but the amount wont go down.
I put Oscars in the one where they invest in shares then they start to take it out gradually as he gets older and move it to a savings account (the government protected scheme)

I know the current financial climate is poor but it is a worldwide thing. i'm not too worried 'cos it's in there for such a long time that in 18 years things will be different (hopefully better)

If your worried though maybe ask if it would be possible to change types of account later. I know you can change account host, but not sure if you can change the type of account.

You may wish to check this site out:

http://www.fool.co.uk/money-talk/you...oowfeml0040016

It explains different ways to invest the voucher and who is giving the best rates. It covers low risk savings and the higher risk accounts. And it tells who is giving the best rates.
