I'm Currently Feeling: | Alone with the in laws *update My in laws are flying from England next week to see their grandson for the first time... They will be staying at mines for a week, but my husband has to work all week so I'm going to be alone with them
They're lovely people, but I'm not sure I can handle the cooking + entertaining + showing them around + JOSH! They are the type of people that are always on the go, they love to do bunch of stuff and I'm more like a let's sit outside and relax type of person... I don't do very well with running around all over the place, especially now with Joshua, I'm always tired and I really need to nap when he naps and try to take some time for myself.
At the same time I'm thinking it's just for a week, I can make an effort for my husband because he would do the same for me... But I just feel so exhausted already since I've been home alone for a week with him being away on a business trip.
I'm sorry for the rant... I just don't know how I'm gonna cope with this. I just can't help it, I'm dreading that week and I shouldn't because they're nice people and it should be a great time as we don't see them very often...
Thanks for reading... I needed to get this off my chest, and I don't wanna take it down on OH because I don't wanna spoil things up for him. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh,I'm sure they'll understand. You gave birth a month ago...Nobody will expect for you to be Martha Stewart.
They might even help you with Josh, and entertain you while you're alone... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i am sure they will be more help than burden for you, sweet! They can watch baby and give you time to rest and take a good long needed nap. Perhaps they can help you with dinner and cleaning as well, i wouldn't understand why not! I hope all goes well for you! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My inlaws are due in the 2nd week of June as well. We have already explained that it is not a time to run around and sight see and all of that and they totally understand. Just have a chat with your MIL, and I am sure she will be more than happy to pitch in and help. I more than plan to hand over the baby and take a nice nap!!! My DH was worried they would be bored, but I explained to him this trip is not about a 'vacation' it is about meeting their first grandchild and spending time with it. I am sure yours feel the same way. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Samantha. Glad to see I'm not alone that thinks the trip isn't about sight see. I thought I was being rude. Feel better now. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I guess this is the one thing that sucks about the in laws living so far away and not just being able to come and visit for the day. After I have had the baby my OHs mum will be coming to stay as she lives in australia and i have EXACTLY the same concerns as you, because my OH will also be working so i will be left to entertain.
His mum is great and everything but i will feel rude for wanting to sleep and not entertaining her the whole time. At least you have the mum and dad so they can also entertain each other and go off and do stuff by themselves. I will feel bad if i leave her alone in a foreign country. I hope it goes okay for you, and let me know how it goes xxxxx |
