How can they get away with it? RANT


I am fuming.

I do not have any direct debits as I get paid weekly (on diff days of the moneth) so I always do it the old fashioned way and pay over the counter or call and pay direct.

Well, yesterday I called to pay my mobile phone bill which was £45. Not a prob. Should have left me with about £100 in my bank as a few more things got paid yesterday too. Checked my online banking today and im overdrawn by £166 but I couldnt figure out why so I called my bank and the guy explained that when I paid my mobile bill yesterday, the money was taken 5 times instead of once! He explained there was nothing he could do as it was between me and the mobile phone people so ive called them and they admitted their error but cant refund me for 14 days!!

What the hell am i meant to do in the meantime???

I get paid next Friday, so that will all be swallowed up by my overdraft and on top of that im getting charged £20 PER DAY for everyday I am overdrawn.

Ive spoken to god knows how many managers and have had a big argument with my boss this afternoon as ive spent the last few hours trying to sort it out. The mobile people said they cant have any dealings with my bank and there is nothing more they can do. HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH IT!! They have all my money. The patronising bitch on the end of the phone even had the cheek to end the conversation with 'have a nice weekend'. With what? Peanuts?

What can I do? I feel helpless. I cant even afford to put petrol in the car or do my food shopping.

Ive worked so hard over the last few weeks to sort my money probs out and now these b*stards come and take it all away from me.

Sorry for the rant

I'd try to get a manager for the mobile phone company on the phone.......they should be paying for any and all expenses you incur because of their mistake in my opinion

I spoke with 3 managers in total, one of them being the customer complaints manager and she was absolutely useless. She said the best they can do is pay me back in 14 days and give me £20 compensation as a goodwill gesture. Its a ****** joke! If I couldnt pay my mobile bill for 2 weeks they'd cut me off but its ok for them to keep my money.

With regards to bank charges, ive been told I need to wait for my bank statement to come through and then the amount of the charges will refunded once ive proved ive incurred them because of their error. Initially they said they'd credit the full amount of bank charges to my mobile bill - what planet are they on!

Trying to calm down for LO's sake but i cant help getting wound up.

That's horrible that they are treating you this way and that it will take so long to get your money back! Not everyone (including us) has spare money laying around to cover for when this kind of thing happens.
