The bliddy Army!

My OH is in the Army, never ever bothered me that hes away a lot.. until NOW!!

He was away when I found out I was PG, he will be away next week when I have my dating scan, he away during the time I will have my 20 week scan, hopefully he will be here for the birth!

I dont wanna start taking it out on him, but Im feeling very alone at the moment, like Im going through it all without him. I know he prolly feels like hes abandoning me bless him. but rah!!!

Did anyone go or is going through this? I just dunno how to cope with it..
And to top it all off, we are moving house end of the month..and hes away!! Im packing and moving all on my own!! STRESS!

Hi hun, just wanted to respond as DH was in the US army, he did two tours in Iraq, and although I wasn't pregnant throughout it, we were beginning our journey and went through some pretty difficult times

Hang in there, do you have a good support family?
Perhaps look into some local pre natal classes, or mothers groups?
those things can be god sends!

Best of luck

Iwas married into the Army for 4 years and i found it really difficult at first but it's a great place to be and you can get loadsa support if you speak to the right ppl. I had three boys while married and understand exactly what you're going through and it is hard but it'll make you a stronger person in the end. With my first my OH was in Kosovo came back on leave and that niht I went into labour, what timing, like lil one had been waiting for him to get back, with my second unfortunately he was in Iraq and unable to get back due to being out there in the first weeks of it all kicking off so i staed with my mum, with my 3rd we were in germany so yet again another different but fantastic experience....All i can say is take up the offers and support you can get and try and remain positive and socialise, enjoy the experience hun xx Best of luck to you xx

Sorry for rambling on lol

My husband isn't in the army, but works in motorsport and is away most of the time... I know how you feel! I didn't mind at first, but throughout my pregnancy it was really hard to see him going away for weeks at a time. He was missing doctors appointment and important appointments. I was really upset, but he was as well!!! It's important for you to support him, he really needs it. I know its really hard...

My OH is in the merchant navy and like you was away when i found out i was pregnant. he has missed all the scans, and wasnt around when I was told my LO has SB, or that I was diabetic or when I moved home.

It is very lonely at times, but I have lots of family around me and we talk to each other everynight. he is just as excited as I am and is going to get a hell of a shock when he comes home and see me looking like a whale! He hasnt beenhome since January.

Although I get lonely and wish I could share the kicks and hiccups etc with him, I feel sorry for him missing out more than I do about my own loneliness, and he has had to deal with the bad news on his own without his friends and family.

If you ever want a chat feel free to pm me. I know exactly what it can be like!
