very mixed up day emotionally

Not sure if this is right place to post. On Friday went to hospital to have planned c-section and baby Dominic was safely delivered. Later that evening my sister visited and I felt something was wrong. Just as my hubby was leaving she said she needed a quiet word with him. She came back into room and burst out that Dad was dead! My mum had been looking after my 3 girls at my house and when she went home later in the day she found my dad dead lying on the bed. I was discharged today but hormones aside its so tough emotionally. Keep crying but then feel I should be on cloud 9 as we have a lovely son. anyway mum coming round tomorrow so will hopefully have a good cry together and try to get some anwers

OH NO! What mixed feelings you must have - happy about the baby, but mourning your father. I am so sorry to hear this.

I was lying in the hospital bed on Friday night crying and a very kind midwife gave me a big hug thinking i was crying for joy. We have given Dominic my dads name as his second name. This of course made me, my mum and sister cry when they visited! Just wish dad had met his grandson as he had been so looking forward to his arrival.

So sorry to hear about your father. It's so touching that you named your son in his honor

Im very sorry for your loss. Try and let yourself just feel whats in your heart. You can be happy for your baby and mourn your dad too. There is no right or wrong just what you feel. I wish you and your family many happy occasions and hope you are comforted by cherished memories. xx
