I'm not a single mum, but me and OH did break up when Oliver was 3months old for a month so i did get a taster of what it would be like and it actually didnt bother me so much, it killed me inside the fact that Oliver and his dad were not going to see much of each other and it wasnt the ideal way but i did cope very well i felt. Infact i felt i was a better mummy to him on my own than when OH and i where together. I managed to get LO into a routine all by myself and prove alot of people wrong and i have learnt alot from that one month. But i have nothing but respect for you guys your such strong people. x

I have a partner now but we dont live together so still feel very much like a single mummy. My daughter is now 17 months and never met her real dad. You will all be fine, I worried so much about it through my pregnany but once your baby is here, all your worries will go away and you will concentrate on doing everything you can for him / her.
Good luck.....

Single Parents Prayer/Wish

Grant me time enough to do all the chores,
join in the games, help with the lessons,
say the night prayers, and still have
a few moments left for me.

Grant me energy enough to be bread-baker
and bread winner, knee patcher and peacemaker
ball player and bill juggler.

Grant me hands enough to wipe away
the tears, to reach out when I'm needed
to hug and hold, to tickle and touch.

Grant me heart enough to share,
to care, to listen and to understand,
and to make a loving home for my family.

Well guys, I think I'm joining you and I'm petrified. I just feel like sitting here and crying. I really thought the father of my baby and me would be together for a long time, he's just kind of disappeared without a word, and I guess I'm gonna be a single mommy. My fella lives in Canada, he was moving to the uk to be with me and bubba, fiance visa and we were getting married in September. But it seems he's just turned his back on us, and there's not really much I can do about it at all.

I am so scared. I'm heartbroken, but what is worrying me is that I wont be enough for baba. I feel like a failure before I've even got started.

ErmWow, I'm so, so sorry things have turned out this way for you. Its such a bitter-sweet time - you want to be happy about your pregnancy but you're sad at your relationship ending, one you thought was forever.

I'm in a very similar situation myself. I was planning my wedding and my fiancé went off with someone else behind my back, and when he found out about the baby he just walked out of my life and didn't want to know any more. That only happened a couple of weeks ago, but I still feel like letting everything go and crying my heart out, then I just think, I have a baby to look out for now, and if daddy can walk out now, he's not worth it.

He's the one losing out not you Drop me a PM sometime if you want a chat with someone in a very similar position to you

Single mum to be here too..

I would be looking forward to it if my mum wasn't making stupid comments about my innability to cope.. does she not realise i've already had every one of those thoughts..
Oh yeah, and the ex saying that he wants the child half of the time.. I mean, hows that meant to work...

Still... I'm gonna be a mummy...
