Hoping to emigrate so thats all thats keeping me going. Been offered job in Scotland but can't be bothered with upheaval.

Its a massive effort just to get out of bed to go to work. Got signed off last year for acouple of weeks. If things don't improve, I'll no doubt be signed off again. Only just managing.

Sorry to hijack thread with a moan.

Notihng worse than hating your job, 'cos you spend so much time there.

Huge to you all. Wishing you speedy then you can all go on maternity leave. Either that or a lot of lottery wins then we can all phone our bossess and tell 'em to stick there job where the sun don't shine.
about the midnight feast..... very apt around here too.....

I wish i would win the lottery but i never have time to go shopping these days. sigh........ oh well, i am hoping luck will go my way and a quick but i think i will keep working until i cant see my toes standing up (i think thats a good goal for myself ha ha)....anyways how the hell can i run around a construction site like that???? my boss promised me an office job (he forgot to mention that its a porta cabin on site grrrrrrrrrrrr)

I've just handed in my resignation and I'm scared sh*tless! My job is well paid, health benefits, pension etc etc. We're TTC, but I won't really miss the maternity leave, it's pants anyway... in Switzerland women are not expected to return to work once they've had a child. Actually, even when I announced my engagement someone said "oh, so you'll be leaving us then?"!

I hear you on that, I feel that I'm so negative at work that it can't help TTC, and I know that I'm very lucky that with DH salary we're in a position where I can take a part-time, or just not so stressful, job and we'll still be ok.

What do you guys do?

I guess I am the same but in my profession its full time or not. I am contracted for 4 days a week but am now assigned to another project and it looks like i need to be there 5 days (and i work sundays already to make deadlines - so will have to really think hard in the next few months what to do).....

I work in economics, preparing publications, let's just say I was looking for something with a little bit more creative flair! Plus for 6 months of the year I can't go away at weekends, take no holidays and work ridiculous hours on a project, grrrr. But living here choice is limited (ie I need to work somewhere English speaking). DH is a pilot. Luckily he can be based anywhere in Europe so moving's not a problem, and when I go to the UK I'm looking for something in marketing.

i used to really love my job and my boss. And i am starting to dread going back to work, not because i dont want to leave callum. Every week there seems to be some different condition to me going back. At first i wanted to go back 3 days a week (10am-3pm) so i wouldnt miss out on too much. I was told i WOULD NOT be able to do that and keep my position as supervisor!!! Then they decide well actually i can go back 3 days, which i thought was GREAT!!!.

Then i mentioned to one of my colleagues that i would quite like to work 3 days (mon - fri) and sunday (i hate sundays). She has totally got the wrong end of the stick and told my boss that i wanted to come back for 3 days which would include a sunday!!! not what i said at all.

My boss has then rang me and said that if i wanted to keep my position as supervisor and the higher wage then i couldnt do this!!! and told me not to talk about this to the girls at work!! Honestly my head is done in with it and i am filled with dread at the thought of going back to work and if it wasnt for the fact that we NEED the money i would tell them to stick their job where the sun dont shine!!!

just out of personal experience, the more responsibilty i get the worse i feel. i am sure you are like me, not THAT career focused so why not take a demotion (and a pay cut) just to shift the stress. then you both win and you will feel more into working (without the pressure and guilt)

:-)
