job change while pregnant?

I work in the dog eat dog world of mobile phone sales. The targets get harder and the threats to fire come in thick and fast to all staff when things dont improve. I improve more and more each time, and then they lay off til the target goes up and you miss out again... so I was thinking, if things became unbearable in my work place could I get a job somewhere else, would they employ me if I was pregnant? I have no intention of going anywhere, but to be honest (all the staff i work with have the same thing too) I dont know how much more I can do. I work my hardest, maybe my hardest is not good enough. I think they are just sifting the weak from the strong. I will maintain my position until I feel my job really is under threat, but in the mean time its worth looking into other things too. What you think?

I moved jobs whilst I was pregnant. I started at Orange in the June and was due to leave for Mat leave in the November.

Im glad I changed jobs as my previous job was very stressful well not actually the job itself but how the managers and majority of the staff made it & I couldnt deal with the stress of it any more I had got to a point where I used to cry every day before going to work and had to be almost forced by Chris to go to work as I knew I had to help provide. I had been trying to change jobs for what seemed for ever and a day so when this came up I dived at it.

I dont think its a bad thing to do (change jobs whilst pregnant). But the only thing is I missed out on SMP through Orange by a week and had to claim MA which was quite difficult as you then are not paid the 6weeks at 90% of your full wage so it was quite a struggle for money at first.

*EDIT* but if you change jobs in your early pregnancy you would be fine... its just you have to be working for your employer 26 weeks before EDD & I was only 25

I would def take the chance. If you are unhappy and stressed, chances are it will affect you physically - either TTC or during your pg.....

I know change is sometimes stressfull, but its a short term thing - if your job has no hope of changing, then that kind of stress is way worse.

good luck with the interview
