Oh no I feel like such an idiot.

Just got home from work and checked my 2006 statement. That amount did go in then. But the letter Ive got definately says it was 2007.

Im so annoyed with myself and Matt sounded really disappointed with me on the phone. Ive got us in such a mess

I feel even more like crying now. I can't believe Ive done that

but if they have sent details to another address with your personal details on they they have not shown "due diligence" whilst handling your account and question the data protection act...they are in breech as far as im concerned!!

challenge this...make sure you say they have not adhered to their complaints procedure and PLEASE put all this in writing to their complaints team...they are not part of barclays they are a seperate company so they have your interests in mind when dealing with things..unless you ask barclays for their inhouse complaints precedure and contact details they wont offer it...try try try to get some compensation for this!!

Don't feel bad about it, it's easy to not notice, with money going in and out all the time. i am sure they should have offered you an alternative way of paying over time, instead of just dipping into your account, at the end of the day it was their error.
And sending your details to an unknown is not on.....I have heard so many bad things about this bank, I would never have anything to do with them.

It sounds really daft, but it's the fact that the original letter I had said 2007 on and not 2006, so obviously when I've looked at 2007 and it wasn't on there, then had all the stress with trying to sort it out, I feel like such an idiot. I feel like I should have checked 2006 anyway, you know? And when you ring and constantly get told 'Well you're wrong, you must have misunderstood' it makes you even more adamant to prove you're not! I just feel like an idiot.

Anyway, that money was the deposit for Juniors nursery placement, so god knows where we're going to find that now lol.

The other thing is that the money has gone in under my dads name, but different account details when Ive looked online. So obviously when Ive had my statement through I've seen the transaction and thought my dad had transferred me some money because I was skint and it was coming up to Christmas. I dont know.

But I cant believe its someones job to sit and go through things from a year and a half ago and then drag it up now. Surely they can't do that?!

I need to stop ranting about Barclays, Im going to give myself high blood pressure.
