I'm Currently Feeling: | Rant.. Been thinking about living arrangements and stuff, and how stupid it is that we're going to have to rent somewhere privately for £800+ a month (which will be a small 2 bedroom flat in the worst location ever) when we could be paying £400 a month on somewhere really nice if they'd just give us a decent mortgage! I don't want to go to the council but it's becoming the best option.. I can't believe it.. I don't want to have to do that but they make it so god damn impossible for us to do anything else! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Exactly! It's impossible for us to get a mortgage unless I give in and work rather than being with my baby. Even then it won't be anything decent. £95,000 max.. lol GREAT. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | jesus christ toria £400 a month for a mortgage. Are you kidding me??? Not with the rates at the moment, i'm afraid that is near impossible my dear, unless you have over a 10% deposit for the place your buying to start off with. Hence the reason me and OH pay £1000 a month for our apartment. I am mortgage master at the moment, i know so bloody much from trying to buy a house last month.
The whole bloody system is ridiculous, would be okay if we weren't paying off 2 houses in austraila, but hey at least i will be outta this country soon. Give it a year or so and it may be possible for first time buyers to buy a house again. xxx | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | We live in a 3 bed semi detatched house for £625. £800 is an awful lot. You don't even live near London do you?
With the way everything is at the minute, renters are going to be better off than homeowners. You're probably better off doing that than buying a house tbh. We can (just) get a £150k mortgage and I think if we borrowed all of that we'd be paying something like £1200 a month for it. If you can find a mortgage for £400 a month please tell me where!
Theres a scheme around here thats called Housing Associating (not sure if it's nationwide or not). It's inbetween council renting and private renting. Might be worth a look into?

Big family home! | Live in luton. Been looking for 2 bed houses in London, Kent, Luton, St. Albans, Welwyn Garden City. All the surrounding areas. It's impossible! Flats seem more expensive than houses too! We'd look at places further from London but then it gets expensive for Rich to get to work. | | | | Status: Offline
