I've been in a similar situation myself before , except i didn't even know i had the card in my name! i phoned the company checked the balance, which i was horrified at! and then confronted her. They had really been struggling financially and after i calmed down ( was mostly upset not angry) we agreed to amounts she was going to pay off each month. I cancelled the card so that more couldn't be spent on it. Now i keep tabs on the situation and every now and then , i give gentle reminders about making sure its paid as its affecting my credit rating, that provides enough guilt for her to keep upto the payments. My OH would go berserk if he found out!

id just call the company say id lost like someone else has already said then if your mum mentions that she hasnt been able to use the details (which i doubt she would mention if shes been secretly using them) just say you lost your card. from then on she'd have to ask

I know it's your mum, but doing what she's doing is theft!
