don't know what to do

With Oliver havin bad colic and reflux and then breakin up with OH its been quite a struggle. OH and i are back together now but things are just as tough..infact i feel like i'm falling apart. Oliver is fairly happy during the day, so long as he's in my arms! But the minute i put him down or leave the room he cries..no..he screams! And he's getting much worse and i dont know what to do about it. Its really gettin me down. I feel tired all the time, i cant be botherd with anything or anyone. I lose my temper easy with people that try to help and am just generally irratable and sressed. I cant even go out for a walk with Oliver as he usually just cries all the way in his pushchair, and then everyone stares at me when were out cus he wont stop cryin. I feel like i never have a break from it and like everyones judgin me, thinkin i'm a crap mum. I'm doin my best but it never seems enough. Oliver basically rules my life. He is wide awake all day long and i cant showe, go toilet or anything without him sceaming. Even when i eat i have to hold him in one arm and eat with the other. I've tried just letting him cry but i cant stand it..i feel cruel and then i just cant eat. Not to mention i cannot stand the noise, it makes me feel ill. Plus it achieves nothing- Oliver just cries louder and harder. Evenings are a nightmare as his colic hits him at about 6pm..this continues til about 1030pm when he finally settles for the night.Of course by that time i'm nakerd and feel the night is over so just go to bed myself..which makes me feel guilty towards OH as he wants to talk to me/cuddle me/watch a dvd/have a bottle of wine etc and im just not interested. This is upsettin for us both, we have no time for each other and ive lost all interest in sex. Both our families and friends live in different towns and neither of us drive so we cant even let someone else take him for an hour or so! I was copin really well untill now. We've had no help from other people..but now i'm strugglin. im exhausted, isolated and i cant stop bein teary.Anyone else been through this? How do i change olivers ways so that he doesnt expect me to hold him allday? Thanks for readin this, sorry its so long! xx

It sounds like you are going through a tough time. Truly, I give people who have babies with colic much credit for what they endure.

I really don't have any advice on what to do as I've not been in your shoes, but, hun, I really hope it improves for you!

Hi hun, I really feel for you! Especially since you have just gotten back together with your OH, its crucial that you spend some time together.
Have you tried a baby sling or something where the baby is still held against you but you can have full use of your arms? I'm not much help coz im expecting my first, but i'm more than happy to lend you a shoulder if you ever need to cry or an ear to talk to. I really hope things get better!
Perhaps talking to a doctor...

Try a baby sling, I think they are great and they leave you hands free. Have you got any mother and baby groups in your area. Know some people try to avoid them but some groups are very supportive and does you good to get out of the house. Your health visitor or GP surgery may know of some. I do think babies can pick up your tension. My second baby was difficult to settle, I used to put her in a soft sling and sang to her. Well not a song just what I was doing, I probably sounded daft but I think she liked to hear my voice. Take care

it sounds like he may have a bit of separation anxiety. I wonder if your health visitor would have any advise on dealing with that, or maybe the super nanny books might help. Pop to the library.
I hope it gets better, I can imagine its a drain on you terrible
