Unhappy

Upset & missing my friends

I was talking to OH about looking for some where to live closer to my family and friends because where we are now there is nobody. It's just the 2 of us all the time & I really miss my sister and being able to meet up with my friends. Before I moved I saw much less of them than I used to because I was with OH and now I feel bad for taking it for granted that they were always just a short walk away or 20 mins in the car at most.

Anyway he said he doesn't want to be nearer to my family because there is always some sort of drama going on. I thought fair enough but what about my friends? Then he said "what friends" and said they never call or come and see me. I said they do still text me but we live too far for them to come and they all work full time or have kids to look after. It was easy when we lived near each other because we could always meet up.

Anyway it left me feeling really upset because I miss doing that sort of thing so much and I feel lonely and isolated where we are. I'm upset that he made out I have no friends. I really hate it here.

where abouts are you chicken?
I can see where your coming from, its partly the security that they are there, regardless if your not seeing them all the time, the idea that they are close by always makes you feel happier.

Possible suggestion, is to get out there, maybe join a club, go swimming or something and make you feel like your experiencing a change.
Worth a base, but i can see what your saying and hope you feel better soon

Thanks.

I'm near Lowestoft at the moment. It's a complete dive. We moved here for OH's job but he's since quit.

I keep thinking about trying to go out and meet people but there's nothing really around here. Within walking distance theres 1 scary looking pub, 1 hotel which I used to work at so it's off the list and a couple of little shops. In the town it's not much better with loads of places run down and closing.

this must be hard for you hun. My mum lives round the corner from me, litterally and i dont know what id do without her support. I don't have many friends as i find it hard to go out and meet people, i'm not overly confident.

If you ever need to chat i'll be here for you

I understand what he means about my family since I don't really get on with my mum but I really miss my sister. I always agreed with my closest friends that even if we may go months or years and hardly talk, we'd still be best friends and always there for each other. I used to see them all pretty much every day but even now if I do see them it's like we'd never been apart.

Honey, I know exactly where you're coming from.

I moved about 100 miles last June and I just can't get over the homesickness. I was back this weekend and I can't get over the sadness of leaving them, I just can't seem to hold it together. I miss them so much and I would do ANYTHING to move back. I just feel so selfish asking OH to drop his life here just so that I feel better.

I can't really offer you any advice, I just want to say that if you need anyone to talk to Im here I know how it feels and its just awful

Big hugs!

xxx

not to be mean but you should just say to him that you want to see yor family and friend and that if he doesn't want to come with you then you just say ok but im going to see them hope this is helpful for you
