Maternity Pay

Hi, hope someone can help ....

Ive read on several websites that maternity pay is £112 a week unless you earn less than this and its 90% of your weekly pay.
But a friend who i work with is currently on maternity and is only getting £92 a week, yet she is on a higher wage than me.

Im too early to tell work yet so i cant ask them directly, i was just wondering if anyone knew of top of their head?

I know! unfortunately i switched jobs 7 months before i fell pregnant, and if i had stayed with my old employers i would have received quite a nice maternity package, however with my new company its only Satutory Maternity Pay. You'd think when you've worked hard all your life they could provide you with a bit more then £112. I doubt me and OH will get given any other sort of beneifts/taxes as we have earnt quite a decent wage this past year (which they go on).

Maternity pay is not taxable income... :-D

So if your employer is taxing you on it then you need to bring the issue to light
