Housing.....I'm buggered!!

Just has a letter through from the council about my housing application.....I've been put in band D which is the lowest and least likey to get anything.

I can't afford to rent privetly and I have no where else to go, mum and dad can't put me up they've not got enough room. I might be able to go there for a lil while but not long term. I can't move in with Rich concidering the current circumstances and he only has a really small one bed place too.

Oh bum, my tenancy runs out 31st March too so I've not got that long either....... pooooopooooopoooo

lolxx

All I can think to suggest is: Can any of your friends share the rent of a private let? Think you may get some benefits of some kind if you private let too - though I'm not sure on this. Or if you're really really stuck.. go to your parents and get them to say that they are evicting you. I'm sure someone told me about this before... you'd get put in a higher band, but think you would probably have to accept the 1st place they offer to you. The only other suggestion is to wait until something comes up with the band that you've been put in. Good luck... I'm waiting for my banding from the council in case my friend isn't able to private let with me, and I think I'll get a low band too x

Whats your current housing situation do you mind me asking?

There are ways .... Your band will be based on 'now' sadly. Ass way about it I know. YOu can move in with your Mum as soon as you have you go down to the housing and change your circumstances requesting it to be reviewed you should go higher esspec after baby arriving again you should go higher priority! Also as Lauren said - after a short time you inform them your Mum has asked you to leave in x many days/months its too much & they ask her to confirm that is all making you higher priority again! Stupid isn't it!

Housing help - yes you very well may be intitled you defo will if you've got low income (mat pay) and live on own! Also if you went private there is help to get the rent in advance/deposit thats usually needed & make sure you get the housing benefit form on date of tenancy starting.

I feel for you, we're in band C living with boyfriends family and got told the other day that they can't help us as we're not their problem (we live in an area covered by a different council) so to private rent. It's dreadful but there just aren't enough houses to go around. Seems like you will have to grin and bare it whereever you can. If you are homeless, they HAVE to help you.. as said, get your mum to write a letter saying you don't get on or something, most likely you will need to stay in a B&B for a few weeks then they should house you. If you get a place as single, I believe you can add your boyfriend to the tenancy agreement..

Good luck hope you get a place soon

Wobbles, I'm currently private renting with a friend but our tenancy is up end of March and my flat mate is moving else where.

Everything is just so flipping confusing and hard, I don't understand why they make it so difficult. I just wish I could be settled and decorated and stuff before bubs gets here but theres no hope in that happening! thanx tho girls xx

All i can think of is askin your mum to write to council claimin that you cant stay with her, you should go up a band that way. I hate how the system works! I feel for you hun, shortly i will be in this situation also. x
