I believe but I'm scared to go for a live 1-2-1 reading. Someone did a reading for me - but we weren't with each other - how it worked I don't know but she said stuff that convinced me, whether it was real or not I dunno and I don't care, at the time it was comforting and that's enough for me.

Mediums are all fake. See Derren Brown, he exposed American mediums and showed how you can do it. He even pretended to be one and the people he fooled thought he was close to god. Then he told them it was all rubbish and gave them counceling. People believe because they are emotionally open to believing and they see connections which logically are pretty thin.

Again, you are entitled to your beliefs on the subject. Ido however, resent the fact that one Derren Brown show somehow 'proves' that 'all mediums are fake'. Derren Brown's programs are edited in such a way that they make the viewer believe that what he is doing is really clever and disproves a theory that he thinks to be fake.

He has that benefit of being able to hide the bits of the program that do not go according to plan- i.e. the person that he working on actually doesn't go along with what he is saying (they end up on the cutting room floor just like any other televised program). He is a great psychologist and he is also a great trickster. He makes people believe what he wants them to believe and his avenues for researching these people are left wide open so that he can do what he needs to suck them in. He purposely picks gullible people, which some fake mediums also do. I am not and would not class myself as gullible or easily led.

The mediums that I have met with could NOT have known the things that they have told me, they weren't educated guesses- they were real dates times, events and people. The events surrounding were also described in detail. No leading questions and a hearty degree of skepticism on my part.

Like I said before, some of the things that I have been told were amazing. I don't subscribe to mass belief or hysteria over this subject, I never used to believe until certain things happened to me in my life that I could not simply deny as more than a coincidence.

Early last year my best friend lost her baby girl to sudden infant death syndrome. I thought that my heart would break into pieces, I grieved so badly over it. Since that event things have happened to me since that defy any reasonable explanation. I am not ashamed to admit, I was devastated by this event but I wasn't waiting for a medium to come along and make me feel better. It is a very personal thing for me, I don't expect some people to understand or believe without categorical evidence. But for me with the experiences that I have had so far, that has already happened.

I wish that like any profession, there weren't hawkers or fraudulent mediums, but sometimes there just are- it doesn't make the reputable ones any less reputable in my eyes. But in my humble opinion, there is a lot about this life that can't simply be explained away scientifically.

Again, I am not saying that you should believe in the things that I do. Cos if we were all the same the world would be a really boring place, I merely pointing out that just because you don't believe in something it doesn't mean that it is any less real.

Hundreds of years ago all the great leaders across the world though the earth was flat - it didn't make it true. Now we know this is not the case, who is to say that in the future that we might be wrong and mediums may infact be proven as totally genuine?

I'm naturally very cynical and i agree there are fakes out there who take advantage, but the one i saw i didn't tell her anything and she didn't want me to she just asked me to nod if it was making sense, how could she possibly know i'd had a miscarriage it's the first thing she said to me and all she knew was my name so whilst i'm still cynical i do believe there are some people who are gifted!

Mmm, I agree. I have had 2 readings to say that I would not have a baby until next year which is not what I want to hear

i believe there are some con artists out there who tell people what they want to here...but i also believe that there are some out there that really are great and spot on the last one i seen was 18mths ago and she told me that i would have another baby and i laughed at her and told her she was so wrong...i already had 5 and had no plans of another but what do you know number six is on its way...

My sisters son died when he was 3, so my sis went to a medium. The medium told my sis all bout Ryan my nephew, and how he is looking forward to his new little brother, and my sis told the medium that he does not have a little brother. The medium told her that her aura was a certain colour indicating she was pregnant. my sis went home, tested and sure enough she was pregnant! My new little nephew is nearly 2 now! So it just shows you.. theer noway she could have guessed she was pregnant at 6 WEEKS gone. amazing stuff xxx she called me straight away! She is now pregnant again with number 3, a little girl
