Was just wondering how everyone met their other half
I met James when I was at a party, when I was about 15 and he was 17. We stayed up all night talking while everyone else got completely F***** and passed out lol. We were the boring ones who didn't drink very much! But I had a great night and that was how I got my lovely man and we've been together ever since.


How about you guys?
Some good stories please! lol I need something to cheer me up atm.
*Just wanted to add as people keep apologising for the length of their stories, stop saying sorry for it! I wanna hear all stories whether they're two lines or two hundred. Also thanks for sharing and your stories are absolutely lovely.

We actually met online in a random chat room. Talked online for about 6 years before meeting in person, got engaged 4 months after we met, and married 13 months later! (Keep in mind we were in two different countries, me in the states him in Canada!)

Rich was my penfriend and we chatted via yahoo messenger as we both have horses. And we were talking for quite a few months before I met him in person. I had just seperated from my ex- when in a moment of complete craziness I asked him to come over for the weekend ( I was back living at my Mum's and Zach was 16 months old when I met Rich). We went out to dinner and the rest is history. We have had our ups and downs as any couple does, but I love him with all my heart and he is my perfect man. Bearing in mind I hadn't seen him in the flesh, no picture, nothing. So when a 6"1 handsome londoner turned up at my door I was overjoyed. He has also never seen me in person either. He made me laugh so much that first day and I was smitten.

I waited a while before introducing Rich to Zach as I wanted to see where the relationship was headed first. I needn't have worried though, he has always been fab with Zach and Zach adores him.

He came up to visit every weekend for the first two years and I went to visit him in Gloucester (where he lived in a gorgeous little rented cottage on a country estate- very very romantic and very very haunted!) Then he moved to Nottingham to be closer to me. We moved in together in 2003 and moved to North Yorkshire for a year and a half.

We moved back to the midlands and rented for two years and then we bought the house we're in now. We've been in this house for two happy years too!

We have been together 7 years and we are now into our eight year.

We got engaged in 2004 and obviously four years later we are now having our first baby together. We have our own house, our son a baby on the way, three cats and three horses!

My OH drives me scatty, but I wouldn't swap him for all the tea in china!

I was a supervisor in a bar and moved up north with my job at the time, I was getting the bar ready for the opening and notcied a cute guy come in for the DJ position.

On the opening night I got rather drunk and went into the bar where I was working with one of the girls I met on a course up here a while back. The bar was about to shut and whilst I was in the office chatting lots of drunken bable to one of the Managers they all left to go to another bar. New to the area I kind of knew where the bar was but not how to get to it... Soooo... being in the drunken state was I tapped some one on the shoulder at the bar and asked where it was, and sure enough it was the DJ.

A few weeks of flirting and us both looking at each other and looking away hoping that neither of us had realised we finally got together one night when i was very very drunk & I dont even remember it really...

What a pair of tarts!! haha

I knew my OH for a couple years before we got together. But we started to get close through talking alot on msn at night n silly times in the morning. We would jst talk for hours. We tried to kid each other on n pretend it was just a strong friendship (mostly cause he was my older cousins best pal) but he emailed me one of those silly survey things. The ones like "Would you ever go out with me?" etc..and I just thought id stop beating around the bush n admit it! That was over 2 years ago now. I normally delete those silly surveys but im so glad i replied to his or I think we'd still be 'just friends' lol

I met OH through my ex boyfriend oddly enough. They had been friends for a while, so one night my then bf asked me if I wanted to go to his friends house for a party. I said sure and we went. We got there, I walked in the door, and he was the first person I saw. There were a lot of people there, but for some reason he just caught my eye. He was so good looking, and he made me laugh like nobody ever has before. Needless to say, I kept to myself about it, thinking that it was just a little crush, and nothing would come out of it because 1) I was with his friend and 2) I barely even knew the kid (not one to take chances).

Couple months go by, and me and my bf would go over there to hang out, party, whatever. Then me and my bf go through some crap, and after breaking up/getting back together a couple times, we broke it off completely.

Couple days later was St. Patties day. I went to a mutual friends house for her party. OH ended up being there, but my ex showed up also. Can you say uncomfortable???
Despite the fact that my ex was there, me and OH hung out all night, talking laughing, what have you. I didn't even notice the other 25 or so people there. I ended up telling him that night that I had some slight feelings for him, and to my surprise, he felt the same.

This is where the story gets a little wierd....
My ex found out that me and his friend were hanging out a lot. So what did he do? He went to his friend and told him that if he wanted to prove to him that they were indeed friends, he had to tell me that I was no longer allowed over his house, and he had to do it in front of him .
So OH took me in my car, and with my ex at the window, told me that he didn't want me at his house anymore. My ex walked away, I started crying, and OH told me that he never wanted to say that. He just wanted to get my ex off of his back.

I didn't go to his house for over a week.

Finally I went back, and never really left. I slept on the couch for a long time, feeling that it wouldn't be right for me to sleep in his bed so short after a breakup. My ex thought I was sleeping with him, and in turn, sent one of our friends over to spy on us, and eventually stole my dog!!!!
I don't even want to get into that story.


Anyways...OH and I hung out everyday, did almost everything together, and when he finally asked me out, I didn't give him an answer until 2 weeks later (i forgot he asked)

Since then, its been amazing. I love him so much. Don't really know what I would've done without him. Yea, sometimes we can get at each others throats, but who doesnt?

In Augutst 2001, I met my DH when I was traveling in London with my Mom, from the US. We had both posted to the same message board, so while I was there, I let all the London folks know and we planned a night at the pub. Though I was familiar with several of the other posters, I had no idea who my DH was, when he emailed me about the trip I sent him a nice blowoff email back. Anyway, so we hit it off that night, and while I traveled we kept in touch. When I went back through London to go home we hung out and had a great time.

So this is 2001, and his 25th birthday was going to be the 11th. I got home on the 7th, and we kept emailing and such. I knew he was going to be in LA around the 20th, and hinted I would like to see him. So the afternoon of the 10th, I just booked a flight to surprise him. I sent an email later that day so he would get it first thing in the morning: Happy Birthday, see you in LA. Well we all know how that day turned out. So I didn't know what was going to happen to the LA trip. But needless to say, 10 days later I was on a very very empty flight to LA. That trip kinda sealed the deal.

By October he had convinced me to move to London. So when I saw my mother later that month I decided to tell her that when I went over for New Years, I was not going to come back. She looked at me and just said "I know." WHAT?! She went on to say 'I knew the night you met him that he was the one for you, and I told a friend you would not be back in January' My mother swears to this day that she saw the spark that night in the pub.

So I gave up my apartment, quit my job, moved everything into storage, and moved to London in December 2001. We got married in 2005, moved to the US in 2006 and are now expecting baby #1. I could not be happier, I am amazed at how much I love my DH, how happy I am with him, and how really blessed we are together.

I was 15 and working in a fish and chip shop with my DH's brother. Well Adam kept coming in so i asked his brother for his number. we dated for a while moved in together on my 18th birthday and got married last august the 10th 5 days before my 21st birthday. We fell pregnant with our first baby in mid september. well almost 6 years later here we are xxx he is the love of my life xx
