Urrrgggghhhh!!!!!

Is there something wrong with this country???

I just don't get it.........

I've been looking at Childcare for Noah which is looking to be quite expensive! I called the Tax Credits people to see how much help we'd be entitled to. Apparently we get Nothing...........................NIL?? That means if I go back to work I'll be working to pay for Childcare and only coming away with approx £200 (if that!) by the time I've covered petrol I'll hardly be anby better off! We only get £20 per week in tax credits and child benefit, so when we've paid a mortgage, paid all bills and got shopping (if we can afford to eat!)

I just don't understand its not like I dnt want to work, I do but I can't afford to work? Am I missing something here??

Try this hun

http://www.entitledto.co.uk/

They bloody pester you to work and they are pathetic at giving people help! Yet for those who have been on income support or other benefits when they return to work they get loads! My best mate returned after a handful of years on income support she gets a GOOD wage, child benefit a month & BONUSES every week because she returned. She takes home about 1600 a month with benefits

You would just think they would be more helpful to those who have families and have worked for years not just to those that sat on the dole for years! Doesn't make sense! Loads of the way they work pisses me off!

When I was on 16 hours work and me & ex split I was entitled to NO help because I was over 21 and had no kids but if I worked 30 hours or more I'd get higher wages and tax credits! Luckily my boss increased my hours!

Me and my OH will struggle when i am on maternity leave, it seems i won't be entitled to much in way of benefits/tax credits etc, really peeves me off when i have worked so hard these last ten years and then you get nothing in return when you need it!

We worked out the other day that if I dont go back to work, we'd be £100 better off. We'd be even better off if Matt 'left' if you know what I mean.

The benefits system is disgusting.

Last year when I was at college, I wasn't entitled to anything becasue I was doing the equivalent of an A level so I might be able to go and do a degree. But of course you don't get anything for that. I was having to work in a shop, behind a bar and at domino's pizza to make ends meet, but I have arthritis in my knees and ankles so I had to give up domino's and shop work. I was still working in the bar, because I needed to pay rent, but it was actually killing me... I was having to take loads of time off college and also because I was a student I couldnt claim disability or housing benefit apparently.

However, the three boys I was living with were all on jobseekers, claiming housing benefit and 2 were on disability and doing cash in hand jobs for their parents. They were earning more than I was. I eventually had to drop out of college.

You cant win, you get punished for working. Its not on!

Sorry about the rant haha, it really annoys me!

xxx

This is where the uK is going sooooo wrong. and the majority of children below the bread line are from working families, those that arn't, mums want to work but simply can not see a reason to, why work? leaving LO with a stranger when you have the same amount of money from staying home?
Its disgusting...
there should be more help for childcare

This is the same problem as I have, I'm more than willing to return to work after I've had bubs but with the money I'd have to pay out for child care it isn't worth me coming back.

Trying to find out what benefits I'm entitled to is making me barmy as well. I'm not going to be able to work and pay for everything I'll end up being better off not working financially. I suppose at least it'll give me a chance to figure out what I want to do career wise and do a course or two........
