Cooking

I was just wondering... How many of you girls cook for you other half on a regular basis? Before getting preggo, I NEVER went in the kitchen unless it was to heat up a lean cuisine... My mom and her friend and MIL have all been trying to get me to cook and sew and do all the stuff that mothers do now... And after making a couple of meals with my mom and her good friend, I've actually gotten the confidence to cook on my own. And for Xmas from my ex-stepmom I got a TON of kitchen gadgets that I really needed. I've been cooking a lot more lately, and actually enjoying it a lot!

But I was curious about how many of you girls cook normally at home. Like full meals?

Not me! Before I got pregnant I was cooking about once a week, a full meal, and other nights I'd throw something together real quick. Since being pregnant, I pretty much haven't cooked because I get hungry and have to eat WAY before DH gets home. Plus, I'm too tired to cook once he gets home.

I've always loved cooking back home and my passion for cooking didn't change when i left home and married Mike. I have been unemployed since we were married (1 car ) and so i always make sure dinner is on the table for him when he comes home.

I love all the kitchen gadgets!!! Mike's mother just sent us a kitchen aid mixer and a Belgian waffle maker (extras she got from friends during Christmas) and let me tell you waffles were on the table the next day!! I'm always looking for recipes online and having friends give me their fav dishes so i can try them out. It's fabulous, and DH loves the food! I've even cooked dinner a couple times for his shift at work (night shift) and everyone knows if they invite me to a party, i'll be bringing a dish of food with me!

Before I fell pregnant I cooked every day, When I was pregnant I cooked every day and even now I cook every day.

I actually dont mind cooking though, I'd rather be cooking something fresh than living out the freezer like I would be if i left it to OH. I mean dont get me wrong... I do buy freezer stuff but we dont have it on a regular basis as it makes me pig sick of eating frozen stuff and not home cooked meals.

When I came out of hospital all we had in was frozen food and because I cant drive for 6 weeks I couldnt get to the supermarket. Was no way i was lugging shopping on a bus so we had to live out the freezer and I was getting so annoyed with it. Managed to get to the shops on Saturday though so I cooked a roast yesterday. Yum. YUm!

I like to cook but I find that if I get stressed it quickly goes out the window. There's a good website I like to use called allrecipes.com/ which allows you to search for certain dishes or ingredients, see the recipe and read other people's feedback on it! Some recipes even tell you how many calories/how much fat to expect in a portion and you can save your recipes to 'your recipe box' to use later. The site really helps me because I'm sometimes unsure of what to think of recipes in normal books, these tell you what everyone think (and there are thousands upon thousands of users)! You should check it out, it's really really good!

i love cooking and as my hubby is diabetic we need to have proper meals with meat and veg and not pasta or bread or the freezer stuff coz it makes him too high. i havent been able to cook so far because of the morning sickness and my sensitivity to smell and its really got me down.

i also hate chicken now which we used to eat a lot in different varieties so im at a bit of a wits end what i can cook when i go back in the kitchen..

My DH and I share the cooking duties. Before I got pregnant (and before I started working-both happened at nearly the same time) I did most of the cooking during the week, with DH doing the majority of the cooking on the weekends. Since becoming pregnant though (and all the nausea that has come with it) my DH has done the large majority of the cooking.

I LOVE allrecipes.com! Its like the greatest site for cooking! I have a huge cookbook, and barely open it cause I always jump on the site! I love that most of the recipes have pics, and you can read the reviews. I just cooked a dish off of it last night.

It depends what we fancy. I lived in Spain for years and it was there I learned to cook, so if we want something Spanish I do it, OH likes french and German cooking so he does that, and for british? we go to the chippy
Unless its Sunday dinner, I do it.
Bubba goes nuts when I cook though, must be the sounds and the warmth. It's waiting for it's dinner already
