I'm Currently Feeling: | Sure Start Maternity Grant Ladies,
Just wondering if any of you know much about the sure start maternity grant. I know you can get it if you or your partner are signed on or income support of sorts. But can you claim it if you're going to be a single parent???
Thanks in advance

That should tell you everything you need to know...
My midwife always said to me.. apply for it any way. I seriously doubt that I will be eligable. Im still awaiting a reply but there is no harm in trying.
Besides you should get all sorts of social security benefits if you're going to be a single parent. Pop down to your local CAB office

| i got this on Coby coz Charlie was on disabilty allowence then which made out tax credits go up.
Now she is off it and our tax credits are the normal amount so i dont think we can get it this time round, shame tho coz we could really do with it

Im going to have to have a look into tax credits also when she is born. I think im right in thinking Chris can claim for working tax credits? Well if he is eligable. I dont understand it all we need to go to CAB office but waiting until baby is born first. X |

I'm Currently Feeling: | re: sure start maternity grant Hi everyone,
I believe it is £500, and that you can claim if you are single parent and have low income/ benefits and also if you are claiming child tax credits with an income below a certain level(£15,000 per annum) i think. You can also calculate your tax credit award on line if you google tax credits its bout 3rd one down hm revenues one. It will estimate your entitlement. Hope this helps
Good luck guys x | | | | Status: Offline
