I'm Currently Feeling: | i got rejected for it but i am a single parent and only earn like £8000 a year MAX and thats with lots of overtime in. so i am going to re apply when the babies here. i was going to appeal against the decision now because apparently they reject whoever they can first because people who really need it re-apply x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Basically I couldn't apply until AFTER she arrived as I would not have qualified! I needed Caitlin to be here & claim my child tax credits then I was able to & I was granted it. Took a lil over a week but it was the Christmas period also!
You can get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if you or your partner are getting: - Income Support
- Income based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit at a higher rate than family element or
- Working Tax Credit where a disability or severe disability element is included in the award
