Grant to help pay for course....?

Im trying to get myself on track to become a PE Teacher...

First of all i need to retake my Science GCSE (because i didnt take it seriously back in school!!!) and ended up with an Excellent E! lol.

Ive looked up some home course which will provide me with all the studying i need which will cost me £299.00 or £29.99 a month. I will then have to enter myself into an exam...

anyone know if i can get any support for this procedure? x

Is that price just for a GCSE?

If you have a local college it would be well worth you speaking to them, my local college offers evening classes for half that price and its only 2-3 hours one night a week. They also offer distance learning which is around the same price where you study at home and have the support of a tutor by tel or email.

I don't know about help with paying as both DH and I work so we have to pay if we want to study.

Good for you, Good Luck

Cx

you could do an access course- i am doing ths at the mo. its science based and is 400 however if its ur 1st level 3 qualification and ur over 25 u should not have to pay regardless of income. u should also get help with childcare fees if required and be able to apply for alg grant of 30 weekly which is attendance based.hope ths helps x

You could do a course from college where you just see a tutor about once a week. It's called flexi-study if I remember correctly and is pretty good if you feel you can learn on your own.

I prefer a class environment though and as said, you can get some good evening courses. Usually you can speak to your college about grants too. Hope that helps!
