i hope i'll be able to find some info here. i am not from the UK originally and i would like to know if such places even exist in england.

i am looking for a foyer/hostel designated for expectant mothers and mothers with babies who are in need of emergency accomodation for a rather short period of time.

i am now a student in central london and expected to have my baby in June. i would have to leave the room i am renting at the moment before that because it's really not practical for a heavily pregnant woman and much less for a mother and her child.

i can't really afford to rent a place of my own and i know that in france there are foyers where you can live from your 7th month of pregnancy and that have day care facilities for mothers who work...

can you give me information regarding this ?

There are women only & family hostels in the UK - You need to go to the local council office and explain your situation for housing or emergency housing if your current place is not suitable.

yeah i need to see the housing office but they won't give me an appointment until i am made "homeless" by my current landlord... which means i'd have to inform him of my pregnancy, which i feel reluctant to do so early on... though i'm sure i couldn't apply too early for accomodation.

i live in a flatshare with the landlord, his wife and another guy. to tell you the truth, i love this place but i can't stand that guy i live with anymore. he's looking for new ways to get on my nerves everyday... so when i leave here, i'll miss the room, not the company.

Pregnancy can make you more sensitive. If they are happy for you to be there with baby and you would stay there if it wasn't for this guy I would maybe try and see if things calm down over a short period of time? If not speak to teh landlord and he may well make a letter that you need to move out on your behalf - just tell him how happy you have been but with bubs on way you would like to get comfortable housing and your aware that the first step may be to go homeless to the council who will provide a suitable accomadation until something more bigger (flat) comes up on their list. Hope that makes sense

the landlord should be quite helpful, he wrote me a letter for my previous pregnancy. i don't think he'll have a problem to do it again.

i just wish i could rely on other people than the housing council cuz they ain't the nicest people around.

Nah defo not but London isn't the cheapest either .... I couldn;t afford to live that way when I considered it.
