I was booked in for a section with ds because he was transvere lie, i was told i have a bicorunate (heart shaped) uterus and was told because of the shape of it he would not be able to go head down so a section would be my only option. I was booked in for 40 wks but it was moved to 39wks due to hight blood pressure and protein but my waters went at 38wks so i had a emergency section.
What im wondering is will that happen again this time? Are there any ladies out there with a heart shaped uterus that have ever had natural or did the same thing happen?

I guess my situation is slightly different, as I have a few other things going on as well lol. I have a bicornuate uterus, which is twisted to the left, also it's attached to my bladder and I have fibroids (only found all this out during my last cs). I have just been to see the specialist and he has added that I have a lot of internal scar tissue and a window in my uterus (app where it has gone very very thin) so yes, I will def be having another cs (maybe also a hysterectomy :-~) depending on how it goes!!!!

This is not meant to scare you in anyway, it's just that as I had a bicornuate uterus and was aware that I may have problems, I had to fight to be referred to see a specialist at the ob gen department and I am so glad I did. The Doctor read my notes and like I said above, picked up things that I was not aware of, now it means that I will be seen again at 32 weeks, it is on my notes and I have an open appointment if I feel bad and my cs will be scheduled in with a senior surgeon.

If you have any concerns then speak to your midwife re referring you to the ob gen department or at least try to get a copy of your last notes. Finally good luck hope you get the delivery you want.

Hi there! I too have a bircornuate uterus, I had my son naturally but he was born at 30 weeks because he ran out of space. He was head down so only using up half of my uterus, I have read somewhere that if transverse they can stay in longer as they are able to utilise more womb space, but u will need a c-section due to not being able to turn. I am now 22 weeks pregnant again and hoping to get further than 30 weeks! Good luck to you both, hope all goes well for us all, which I'm sure it will x x x

Me too, there are many have bicornuate uterus. My case, I had first one til 38weeks, she was pushing my bladder with her head, so she could not come out. Ended with c-sec..... And bladder injury, which dr took uterus and bladder apart, stitched up. My 2nd, I had contraction from 27 weeks, several emergency visits, but I kept him til 35weeks. However, it was my office visit, and dr said he can feel baby's feet were already out, go to emergency now....... So of course, I had c-sec again. I have now 3rd in me. I am not worried about c-sec, it seems to be likely so, but if you can do natural, that's great. My most concern is to be able to keep a baby in me as long as I can. Cuz, our uterus dont have enough space, so..... You are lucky one to be able to keep so long!!
