Hey!

I can't help really but didn't want to read and run. Good luck on Monday! Fingers crossed it was a false alarm!

HI there. Try not to panic love

The 3hr fasting test is the one that counts. I have recently been diagnosed with GD after the 3hr GTT, but it is still uncertain as to whether I in fact have the condition. After doing daily blood sugars, they have all come back normal even after eating sweet stuff. I don't even have to visit the GD clinic.

It has been explained to me that when carrying twins and their 2 placentas, the strain on my own liver is so much greater, and this can affect my insulin levels slightly without it necessarily being true GD. I just have to keep an eye on things now to ensure the levels remain normal.

Even if you do have GD, it is often easily controlled with diet without any long-term effects. Just make sure you cut down on the sweet stuff, fill up on veggies and eat smaller regular meals.

THe whole point of getting tested is to nip the condition in the bud, and do something about it before it becomes a problem. It is one of the few pregnancy complications that can be succesfully treated hun, and remember, GD is totally different to being an insulin dependent diabetic BEFORE you get pregnant. That is a whole other issue - try not to stress
