question about caesarian for epileptic

Hi all

OH has a friend who has been told he is the daddy-to-be due to a one night stand.
The girl gave her due date as 15th July which is a week after me so I assumed she was 16 weeks now. When I pointed out her conception date means she was pregnant before OH's friend slept with her she said the due date is when she is to have her caesarian as she has epilepsy and said she is only 10 weeks pregnant.

Does anyone know:
If you automatically get booked in for a caesarian if you have epilepsy?
Would they book a caesarian when you're only 6 weeks pregnant?
If you are due a caesarian would they book it for 34 weeks pregnant?

Anyone who has an idea please let me know. The dates just don't add up to me but I've never had a C-section (thank goodness!)

Em x

Usually scheduled sections (in western Canada) are scheduled for 38-39 weeks. Not sure about the epilepsy part tho. Friend was able to give birth naturally to both of her girls and she has epilepsy... Maybe the doctor just knows that he wants her delivered that early??? Really not sure about that part hun, sorry I can't be more help.

That's ok sweetie.

From what I can find it seems to be 38 weeks mostly and only earlier if the docs are worried as the pregnnacy progresses.

Just can't believe in this day and age women still try to trap men with a baby! It's so unfair when I know of women who have planned pregnancies with their partners only for the partner to then leave them stranded

Either way, he needs to get a paternity dna test done immediately after the birth.

Hi hun i have epilepsy and im having a c section. Im 28 weeks and dont have a date yet but they also told me they dont just give c sections to epileptics unless there is a risk. She would not have got a date this early. Definately get a paternity test x
