I'm Currently Feeling: | Is it me? I dunno, am I being unreasonable?
I have this friend who has two children. One is 2 and a half and the other is 6 months old. She texted me the other day to see if I fancied meeting up so I said "yes, what do u fancy doing". She suggested either a walk or that I go round to hers.
So I said a walk would be great as the weather is so nice at the mo. Last few times we've met I've gone to hers and we've ended up stuck inside.
She then replied that it would have to be in the morning as her 6m old has to have a nap in the afternoon.
So I suggested 11am and she replied saying that it would have to be a quick walk as 6m old needs a bottle at 11.30am.
So I rush round that morning to get us all up and dressed and timed feeds so we could meet up only to get a text half an hour before hand saying that it was too sunny and she couldn't take her 2.5 year old out in the sun.
Is it me?! I am being unreasonable to want to reply "stick a hat and some suncream on her and get out in the fresh air". It really peed me off. I know she has two children too, but couldn't her routine be relaxed a little or the 6m old have a nap in the pram?
I didn't reply and we're off to the christening of the 6m old on Sunday. I just know she will be stewing about my lack of reply as much as I am stewing about her text!
Friends, eh? Who needs 'em? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ok seriously what's the problem. I think that is quite odd. But what is the big deal about going outside in the sun. You can't run from it your whole life. I agree, sun cream, a hat and get to walking! But even still, her 6m old could of had the bottle while you were walking. From what I have seen, 6m olds are able to hold the bottle themselves no? And I'm guessing she would have had a stroller. Hmm I think I would have been quite peeved too but I might have replied still saying we will go another day. Perhaps you can just call her and say something came up so you weren't able to go, that way you will be just dandy for Sunday. Hmm odd is right though, seems as though she didnt want to do outside to begin with. |

Anyway, your friend sounded as if she was trying to avoid going out, maybe she was tired or something? you know what it's like sometimes. I know you'll be tired too with 2 little ones, but some people are better at coping than others. I think you should reply jokingly and say something about a sun hat and some cream and feeding baby whilst you're all out. Just say something like "lets go get a coffee and feed our babies whilst we're out" as sometimes people don't realise they're being unreasonable.
Hope it works out lol. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'd have been cross aswell hun, no reason a 6month old couldn't sleep on the walk, like you say sun hat and cream works wonders!!!
FGS Emily is a ginner and i never kept her cooped up if it was sunny!!!!
If she is not slightly flexible with a routine she is gonna be buggered soon TBH she must never get anything done.
If we are in house Jack has a little nap in morning or afternoon, but if we are out and about he can easily go with out one, and 6month olds will crash anywhere LOL.
Id txt her and tell her how disapointed you were and how much effort it takes for you to get Charlotte and Thomas ready

| I cant take Coby out in the sun if its to hot, he doesnt keep any hats on and gets really sweaty hot and bothered, he ends up moaning and crying.
Its best to take him out in the afteroon/early evening when its cooler

| is she a vampire? lol
I understand the 'hottest hours = more protection' but factor 50, white t shirt and a little cap..... and the 6 mth old...could've had bottle outside
If a baby is tired, they'll fall asleep wherever they are...mind you, so will I, PMSL
but if it's something deeper, surely she wouldn't have agreed earlier that day? |
