I've rang the AA complaints line, and there is only one call on the system - the second one I made! Nothing at all from the first!!!

She's listened patiently to me ranting and said she needs to locate the other call on the system to find out what happened. I rang them at 1pm and I'm still waiting for a call back!

She's just rang back. She's tracked down 'Pat', the woman I first spoke to, and it wasn't on the system as she was new and didn't know how to do it without a definite address! So she took all the details from me, went to ask her manager how to do it, and then by the time she had, the second call was already there.

The second guy was the one who didn't put the amount of passengers on. He put in the notes that it was mum and 2 kids, but they have a box where he should have put the number 3. If he had, they would have sent a flat-bed straight away and not the transit.

She has also said that they did pass on the correct information to the other garage, but obviously they didn't pass it to the driver. I said that wasn't my issue as they were still representing the AA and so it was still their resposnibility, to which she agreed entirely.

Anyhow, I had to upgrade to Relay last night (only had local!), which has increased the monthly DD and I also had to pay a one-off charge of £49. She offered to put me back to local collection only and decrease the DD, but I said I would prefer to stick with it now I have it, so she's refunding the £49 charge.

I said I hadn't called for compensation, I just wanted it to be pointed out to the people who had made the mistakes, and she said it definitely would be and I would also be getting a letter about it.

So, not a bad outcome really, lets face it, there's nothing they can do to turn the clock back and get us home any quicker. At least I've got another £49 to put towards either a new head gasket or a new car.

Awww, thanks Imi.

We were okay though. TBH, it's been just as tough today though. Kayleigh's been out with her mates all day, Stu's gone away for the weekend, I had less than 5 hours sleep (Charlie still up at 6am!), and Charlie has been whinging all day long. He's tired, he's got a poorly tummy from being fed the only thing we had in the car (biscuits!) instead of his bottle when he was hungry, and just been generally out of sorts all day. Charlie's now in bed, Kayleigh's coming in at 10pm, then I'm hitting the sack myself. Shattered.

Oh, and I didn't tell you the icing on the cake at the end of it all did I????

I got home at 12.05am, had wine and pizza, sat and told Stu the whole sordid story, then we decided to go bed at 1am. I popped loo before bed, and that cow Aunt Flo decided to make her wonderfully timed appearance!

Sorry, feeling really sorry for myself at the minute - I'l soooooo tired.
