Mobile phones in hospitals

Heard on the radio this morning. Apparently the ban on mobile phones in hospitals will be lifted as it isn't necessary to ban them.

I personally am pleased with this as I was in hospital for 4 days when i was having caitlyn and the worst part was being separated from my partner and there was no way i could afford to pay the prices of the hospital phone!

Technology has moved on nowadays, the mobile phone signals do not interfere with machines

xx

R delivery suite, DAU and neo-natal unit are both on the same floor so when I pop in for a check up i always turn my fone off, its cos its such a close proximity to the Neo-natal im always paranoid that my mobe will interfere with the machines.

I was allowed to use mine at Derby City when having Joseph, just not allowed on the actual labour ward (lol wasn't really up to texting much then anyway!). I didn't understand why some hospital said it was ok and others banned them xx

I was allowed to use my phone when I was in hospital, but only in the maternity bit and the delivery room
