Booking Holidays

Can anyone recommend the best company/place to book holidays through? Is it better to go through a travel agent, or buy flights and accommodation directly yourself?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a destination then that would be great too.

OH and I would like to go away in October next year, but we will only be able to book it last minute due to the nature of his job. We plan to have about £1k in total to spend but this needs to include flights, spending money, accommodation, etc.

We never got round to having a honeymoon, so I suppose this will be it.

Edit: We do have unlimited airmiles that we can use to any worldwide destination, but we still have to pay tax on them though.

I went to Cyprus this year and it was the bestest holiday EVER!!! We went Ayia Napa, we didnt go for the partying, but we kinda got drawn in hehe!! The views were absolutely amazing and they have the best waterpark... Not sure its really a family holiday and it was major hot!! But I would go back ther in a flash if i had th chance. Everyone are so polite and appreciate your custom. We booked through an online site where we found the best deal but we looked at reviews on the site before we booked. a few weeks after we got home the airline we flew with went into administration though but i guess thats always a risk?? Good Luck with your holiday searching =] xxx

Thanks hun I certainly wouldn't mind going to Cyprus, but as there is an RAF base there I don't think OH would want to go as he's been there with work. I have heard great stories about how nice it is though!

Come to Canada!

I don't really have much else to add... not familiar with the currency or places around there to go to. Hmmm....

I've always wanted to go to Mexico or the Dominican. Pretty much anywhere that's all-inclusive and serves me drinks in hollowed out fruit cups with little umbrellas in them.
