Ok beanie .. but i think the thing we (or at least i) was saying was that they should not have been given the treatment until they were off it altogether. Fair enough it shouldnt be said that they will be bad parents because of it, i am just a bit peeved that the nhs have provided them with this expensive treatment when technically they are still classed as drug addicts! And then they turn away others who have never touched the drug and are totally healthy because of lack of funding!!

I have nothing personal against people who take drugs .. i have people very close to me that take and have taken drugs now and in the past and if any of them had fallen pregnant then i would have been very supportive and helped them to come off the drugs and would never have said they were bad parents.

So easy to judge either way because of circumstances in your life or never been faced with anything the same or simular.

You hear so many stories that sometimes it's easy to think the worst of peoples parenting skills with circumstances like this.

Discussions like this will always have good & bad points ... I went to bed last night wondering if my Dad was ok after seeing what one member pointed out should happen to addicts with no consideration to my post prior to it ...

So I don't think Beanie is saying anything different from most on the thread but pointing out people assume the worst in these situations (bad parenting) & she knows from seeing her friend go through getting clean thats not always how it is.

How is it these people are admitting to taking heroin but they're not being prosecuted?

there not dealing or appear to be using crime to fund thier habit (methadones free on the nhs!)so not worth police time.

But heroin is an illegal drug yes? Possetion of it is illegal, no matter what the quantity.

I aint going to give my opinion

But wanted to say my step sis was a heroin addict got pregnant and just quit,strong girl I say...now has three kids and thinks only thing she does is smoke.

I dont know what to think to be honest so cant comment,
