Dont use the norton whatever yuo do , I had a free trial of that when I got it and as I predicted 2 days before trial ran out it planted 6 trojans on my lap top and was very hard to get rid of.

I just use Avira free edition, seems to do the job.

AVG 8.0 - It's free & does the job.

Never had problems.

i use bitdefender 2009 total internet security anti virus, plus adaware and spybot search & destroy spy ware! the last 2 are free downloads and the anti virus is about £20 for a year. My PC is always running well and i get warnings of hackers etc.

AVG
DF is a Security consultant and its all he recommends for home computers (along as the users aren't visiting dodgy web sites)
Stops the computer getting clogged up with cr*p applications you don't need (like Norton puts on the PC)

We run a spybot search every few weeks and that's all we do .... never had a problem

AVG i think..

Wouldn't recommend Nod32 if your using a laptop unless you have lots of ram.. I had it when i had 512mb and it just ran the laptop down and was constantly slow
