I'm Currently Feeling: | I got told any modeling agent you had to pay up front for were scam type things proper agents dont ask for a fee up front. But that may just be a few.....just be careful as you could end up out of pocket its like these ones you go to hotels and they say to nearly everyone aw you have what it takes go to the next room for some photos you go and then they say "beautiful" now see our rep....go see the rep and they say yeah you have what it takes but we need £??? for the photos etc and then we will sign you with the agency. You sign with them yeh and they send you the photos but hardly anything comes out of it.....My Best friend did it with her lil boys and swore NEVER to do it again if you had to hand money up front.....but it could just be one experience XxxX |

They should be paying you. I wouldnt send them money, especially if you couldnt afford to lose it. I watched something about it on tv... could have been watchdog? Where agencys were taking on kids and then never getting them any work. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would agree ... i wouldnt touch an agency that made me pay a fee with a barge pole!!
I have a friend who is pretty well known in the modelling world, if msn will ever let me on i'll ask him if he's heard of them or if he know what their like |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I know of them - they were featured on watchdog a while back... anyway - don't do it - if your kids are as good looking as mine (written tongue in cheek and big grin on face) I'm sure that Kellogs will be banging down your door for your little chillblaines to appear in the advert for their latest cereal "credit crunch".
Don't be disappointed if they don't call though - enjoy the quiet life instead, like we do... although Anna is due to model for Baby Mind-The-Gap next week.... nah - I joke.

| The others are right: any modelling agency that asks you for a fee up front is a fraud.
Legitmate modelling agencies make commissions off your work, not by charging you for "administration" or photos.
If they didn't think you would make them any money, they wouldn't be approaching you. Asking you for fees is a big fat red flag.
In Canada, we have an industry watchdog group that holds all modelling agencies to a standard of ethics. I bet there is something similar in the UK.
Sorry I'm not more help, but I was a professional actor for several years and I am really leery of how many bogus agencies are out there hoping to prey on people's hopes and dreams.
It struck you as funny that they wanted money right away - trust that feeling. |
