Dunno what to do.

I phoned my mother today and she asked me "next year when you and Ray get married are you changing Alyssa's surname?"

I said of course ray is her daddy so she will have the same name as both parents.

she then said she wants me to keep Alyssa's surname but as a middlename and also to add current step dads name as a middle name i told her no as her name is long enough as it is and i know ray will say no.

when will my mother realise i am my own person and alyssa is my daughter.

sorry for the rant but it really annoyed me.

Mother's! It's not any of her business what you name your daughter. Your daughter is exactly that, YOUR daughter!

My mum's as bad. Think we just have to stand up to them. They have to realise we have our own families.
