god thats a well hard one!! i just wouldnt know wha to say but would feel like i had to say something. my aunty's my godmother and the only difference in my presents and my sisters presents are that mine are ALWAYS religious! for my last birthday (i was 20) she got me a mug with my name on, and somethin else with alice on and an article from a religious magazine about how when times are hard suicide isnt the only option and you can turn to god!! for my birthday ffs!!

Alice- erm, what an uncheerful present!

It's a tough one really. It isn't fair for her to show such obvious favouritism though, especially if your children are old enough to notice! As others have said perhaps just try only giving her children selection boxes, or just try and have a word with her, saying that last year your older children noticed and felt left out. She needs to treat them more equally otherwise say you won't feel comfortable accepting the bigger present for katie.

if she wants to get extra cant she do it at birthdays? or even give them all the same and then a little extra afterwards?
