Thanks! My hair is somewhere in between, it depends how I dry it, but I can never be bothered/ don't have the time to fuss around with it a lot so i just want a pair of straighteners that does the job fast. I know GHDs work wonders, cause I steal my mother's, lol. I was hoping there'd be some cheaper that do the job just as well, because I really can't understand why GHD's are so expensive & what makes them different. But I'll probably just end up getting a pair of them anyway I'm looking on ebay at the mo, they're still really expensive on there too.. even broken pairs for spares/repairs are going for about £30!!

have u tried putting some charles worthington straightening soothing balm on before u blow dry your hair? That really helps the ends of my hair. A bottle lasts me ages aswell.

i think these are the ones my friend has http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...n+Straightener

they're dearer than i thought they'd be though!

I have the remington wet to straight straightners. I have thick curly hair. I find that they don't work brilliantly when my hair is wet however from dry they work brilliantly. I have the one's for long hair which are thicker and takes no time at all.

I had these one's last year. They were brilliant, heat up really quick. I'd still have em now if the dog didn't chew the wire off. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...RAIGHTNERS.htm

The one's i've got now are Remington, and heat upto 230degrees. Remington arent dear, and they're great.
