I had a girl I knew contact me. We swapped a few polite emails but that was it. Was never that keen on her when I knew her so wondered why she'd bothered.
OH has swapped a couple of emails with a girl he went to school with. Same sort of thing really, polite emails about what they are doing now and then conversation kinda runs out.
I've stayed in touch with people from school that I wanted to stay in touch with, but it's interesting to see what the boys I used to fancy do now and the bullies! HA! You reap what you sow!
