easy updos

anyone know of some quick and easy updos? The ones I used to do are no doubt a bit dated. I used to do twists alot or curl all my hair, put it in a clip at the back and pin all the rest at the top

When I put my hair up I separate it into thirds from top to bottom. I do the middle bit first, twist it tight until it loops back on itself and use tiny butterfly clips or lots of grips. Then the bottom third, then the top (so it's neater). Then I pin out the twists so they make a neat sort of squiggly round shape. If I'm being fancy I think put in tiny roses on grips, or sparkly pearl grips so that the do ahs some fanciness to it. I don't know if this is making any sense to you! People always always comment on it though so it must look alright! It's not hard to do either but people always think it looks complicated. As I have a regency fetish I also have front bits round the side and wear a headband (plaited ribbon or velvet) too but I've short hair at the front especially to do it.

I've attached a pic but it's not great because I have big butterfly clips in that time so it's harder to see the hair.

I have longer hair and use bigger clips.....kind of look like butterfly....hard to explain. But i just make a ponytail BUT instead of using an elastic i start twisting it ( with the ends pointing straight up)
then use the clip to hold it ( clip is near top part of back of head)
hair strands just kind of hang everywhere.......but you could curl lightly so its not messy looking.
I have thin hair so this method works best when i DON'T brush it first....it actually looks better that way.

I just previewed this and not sure if it makes sense..hahaha sorry. Actually it looks identical to what you wrote...LOL
if i had a pic i would show you!!!!!
