Oh hun I feel your pain. It is so very hard especially when you've had a cat that long. It's losing a family member.
When I was just 4 my cat Runt was born in my closet. He had been given away but was brought back due to allergies. So it was meant to be. Unfortunately last year at 16 years he died suddenly of heart failure right in mine and my moms arms. He was my best friend. I cried and cried. And still do cry occassionally when I think about him and am missing him. i still think about him every single day.
It's not easy and it will not be easy. But just be there for eachother and try to smile at the great memories. SHe had a great life obviously by how long she lived. She will be in your heart forever and is up there waiting in pet heaven to see you again
It's always hard losing a member of the family.
